I was glad to see an original 2te10M stil working, I also saw one other leaving Bukhara depot.

It might still be the station, the track nearest to me was being used for locos to shunt and head back to the yard.

After a day of sightseeing in Bukhara I convinced my wife to "take a break" and come and try our luck at catching a train on the outskirts of the city. 2 hours of waiting and a 2TE116 and a rather cute AS1A from the wrong way a glorious sound could be heard of something loud and heavy. A few minutes later a lovely 2TE10M doing it's bit for the environment rolled into view. A good finish to a days sightseeing!

Lovely photo and very interesting place! I will be glad to be back in Uzebkistan soon myself.

A fantastic day spent around Almalyk seeing the railway as well as the mines.

I just copied it from another photo already on the map nearby.

I guess it's cheaper doing this rather than buying a fully brand new loco.

Tarnowskie Góry - Rail Polska 207E-003 hauls an empty matching box rake and an SM42 southbound on the outskirts of Tarnowskie Góry. The 207E is an interesting loco due to the fact it's a rebuilt from an M62, a diesel loco, into an electric locomotive. As unusual as this is, I imagine there is very little left of the original M62.
