С завода поступил в депо Иркутск-Сорт. (03.1980 г.) 1996 — передан в депо Ховрино. Позднее — передан в депо Волховстрой. КР 01.1998 г. Летом/осенью 2007 г. секция 589Б подменена секцией 577А (горевшей на ст. Пелла), и 09.2007 г. локомотив отправлен для проведения КР на Улан-Удэнский ЛВРЗ. Ремонт проведён не был.
