Amazing!

Sadly not the best weather for such a high vantage point however I spent a very enjoyable day relaxing atop of The Tamerlane's Gates watching the world go by. This was the first freight seen whilst on top of the rock outcrop, around 2.5 hours after we arrived.

795 это ОП в сторону Атбасара.Там останавливаются электрички на Атбасар и Жалтыр и поезд на Аркалык

Finding a decent spot to take photos near Astana proved to be quite difficult if you don't want to travel far out of the city. However in the late afternoon/evening on a sunny day this spot where the freight lines both head north west out of the city proved to be a good easy option.

Всё таки оригинальный кузов от Cz Loco на ЧМЭ3М
в Латвии смотрится куда красивее - чем аналоги...

After getting off the train at Astana I spotted this brightly coloured shunter and had to investigate. I promised my wife who by this point wanted to get to the hotel that I wouldn't be long))

I would also like to clarify that no disrespect was meant to the people in the right of the photo, or any Uzbeks, it was simply an observation I made with experiences from the UK. :)

Exacty, in the cities and towns this blue fence rules, thankfully in rural areas it's just a barbed wire fence which isn't so much of an eyesore. In the UK we sometimes have 2 meter green fences which are much worse.

I wasn't sure what they were doing to be honest, there seemed to be a lot of them in a small area, not doing a great deal. It actually reminded me of people doing supervised work or community service in the UK. I am quite curious to what they were actually doing.
