This week I decided to head up north to the area near Saltburn where Polyhalite trains run close to the North Sea. Trains use the old line which ran down to Whitby with the line staying open as far as Boulby for traffic to the mine. Thankfully this is one of the main freight flows in the region with over 1 million tons produced annually. This results in multiple trains a day heading along the scenic single track line.

Seen here somehow finding a patch of sun whilst passing Hunt Cliff on the on the coast next to the North Sea is Heavy Haul Rail's 70020 with 6F24 Boulby to South Bank Tees Dock with 12 loaded wagons. The locomotive is in a striking Orange livery with an addition of a 60 to commemorate 60 years of Freightliner.
