It was briefly transferred to Swindon, sent back to Taunton for permanent-way depot work, and later relocated to Bristol. Withdrawn from active BR service in July 1969. Following its BR withdrawal, D2133 was sold to the British Cellophane Factory in Bridgwater, Somerset, where it worked hauling factory freight. The factory closed in 1994, at which point the shunter was donated to the West Somerset Railway.
