1Q35 Hull to Newcastle

On a lovely (and rare) sunny Sunday what better conditions to capture two special workings alongside the River Humber at Ferriby. My last couple of months at work have been quite intense so it was nice to take photos instead of just being on board trains.

The first working was the monthly New Measurement Train (NMT) diagram that Network Rail run to inspect the tracks. Doing the honours this time was 43014 which is one of the few power cars with buffers and 43062, both of which used to be part of passenger formations. 1Q35 had left Hull 45 minutes late with the run up to Newcastle however that worked in my favour to get the sun round a little bit more.

The distinctive yellow colour of this train matches that of other countries test trains, including the famous Japanese "Dr Yellow". The NMT covers 115,000 miles in a year at speeds of up to 125MPH (200KPH). More info can be found here -https://www.networkrail.co.uk/our-work/l...in-nmt/

Volgabus, when they were built they were classed as 253 and 254 which is a DMU classification. I agree it's a bit of a grey area, even among Brits as you rightly say they now work for Rail Adventure and can also run as just a power car.

На фото вполне себе (почти классический) ЛВПС/ПЛТ, с двумя тяговыми единицами-тепловозами в общем габарите.
