Что меня особенно радует - они не отказываются от имени В.В.Куйбышева, даром что СССР 23 года как нет, и подобные "номенклатурные" названия по нынешней жизни не в почете :(

Да как же «не в почёте»? В каждом почти населённом пункте — улицы Ленина, Советская, Маркса, Энгельса, Куйбышева и прочих бакинских комиссаров. Уж почёт так почёт.
