More like a regular WC.

I think that it will have been a workman's hut or a place to wait for a train to pass if working on the line.

Andrews, yes it is very impressive, especially as the line was built so long ago, however past this point the speed is 60MPH for this DMU). It will reach 125mph when it is on the East Coast Main Line.

Yes I can imagine it is unusual to see)

I think that is the reason, I know most locomotives were this way round, but GWR locomotives were right hand for some reason, I am not sure why.

Ограничение скорости 35 mph, для моторвагонного подвижного состава (MU - multiple unit) - 60 mph.

Still so weird to see left-hand traffic. This is also funny to realize that cars have a wheel at left side in right-hand traffic countries and vice versa, however locomotives have reverse situation: a driver is at the left side in left-hand traffic countries. Was it also because of the steam locomotives to see lights?

The cutting between two harsh stone cliffs is very impressive, especially at 200 km/h. By the way, what does "35" and "MU 60" mean?"

A Grand Central 180 DMU heads along the Caldervale line towards Halifax working a London Kings Cross - Bradford Interchange service. I quite like this location because of the impressive cutting between two harsh stone cliffs.

The class 180 is a 125 mph/200kph DMU formed of 5 coaches.
Grand Central is an open access operator who operate 4/5 trains on this route daily, as well as a Sunderland - London route.

They mostly operate commuter trains but it's the equivalent of Moscow's suburban Electric units.

It's National Rail not subway. Trains operate right to the south coast from this station.

Yes another train is arriving, there are actually 5 tracks on this bridge over the Thames, the other three are out of view of the photo to the left. 20 trains can depart in an hour so it's very busy for a 6 platform station!

Southeastern Networker 465019 leaves London Charing Cross paired with another 465 working a suburban service to south east London. These units were built for Network Southeast and entered service in 1992 to replace older, slower 3rd rail units.
