A day out in West and North Yorkshire to see historic towns and villages isn't complete without a few photos of trains. Amongst the local passenger trains GBRF's 66785 hauls a rake of stone hoppers from Arcow Quarry to Pendleton. Taken in a field full of Ragwort (yellow flowers and toxic for livestock) you can see tell-tale signs of the area. A "Drystone wall" which is really common in North and West Yorkshire and a skill that has been used for centuries to keep animals in fields. It's also worth noting the first hills of the Yorkshire Dales, an area of hills, moors and valleys which is one of the UK's many national parks.

GBRF 66785 leads a rake of empty coal wagons to Immingham port for loading with coal for one of the few UK coal-fired power stations left in action. 20 years ago coal trains passed here every hour, now that number is a couple a day at best.
