Northern Rail 150 273 starts to cross Lockwood Viaduct working from Sheffield to Huddersfield along the Penistone Line.
I really like this area, especially how the train enters the viaduct from between the trees :)

Preserved LMS Black 5 5428 hauls a demonstration freight train up the 1 in 49 gradient towards Goathland Station.
This was taken during the North Yorkshire Moors Railway's (A heritage tourist Railway) Steam Gala, where more trains are run, including demonstration freight trains for photographers and tourists to see.
In the UK we have a lot of such railways with some running trains on special open days, all the way up to Railways such as this one running trains 9 month of the year, everyday.
In this timetable there was a steam train every hour, each way running along the 24 miles of Railway.

Longroyd Viaduct - Northern Rail 150205 works 2B52 Sheffield - Huddersfield, nearing journeys end as it crosses Longroyd viaduct, the last of many it has crossed on the Penistone Line.
The Huddersfield & Sheffield Junction Railway was formally opened on 1 July 1850 making the bridge 170 years old at least!

A Class 222 "Meridian" heads south on the 4 track section from Trent South Junction - Loughborough as it works a fast service to London St Pancras from Derby.
The Midland Main Line isn't electrified all the way up meaning that services that travel North of Bedford have to be operated by diesel units, such as the Class 222 and the famous "HST" Class 43.
In the photo however you will notice a lot of pylons, perhaps a little ironic. Shortly after I took the photo it rained and I got a bit wet))

Yes I noticed that yesterday when I was uploading the photo, I think it is. I guess it gives a good place to build it, but quite unusual to see.

Honestly I am not sure, slow introduction of units has meant services are not what they should be and targets haven't been met, so the government has stepped in. However I am not sure if this is for the governments gain. I guess we will see if any more fall.
